The Sleep Thief

We’ve all experienced those nights when racing thoughts make it difficult to sleep.Like a thief in the night our active mind and racing thoughts steal our much needed rest. When sleep sees impossible try calming your mind with this technique. Start at your toes and work your way up your body one body part at  time. My toes are relaxed and asleep, my feet are relaxed and asleep,  my knees are relaxed and asleep, etc. Slowly getting your mind to focus on relaxing your body. Hopefully by the time you reach your head you will have fallen asleep. However, if this doesn’t work and you’ve tried calming your mind and body for at least 20 minutes.. Get out of bed.and try meditating for 10-15 minutes, deep breathing or stretching.Then go back to bed and try again. Wishing you calm and peaceful night, Katherine

  1. How great! I will remember this next time I have problems sleeping. Cause most of the time except turning around and thinking “I must sleep” I don’t know how to relax.
